Here are some highlights from this week, and below those are some moments from the weeks before that haven't been updated to the blog yet.  This week in math, we have been continuing on with subtraction. Grade 2s have been practicing subtraction with regrouping, and Grade 1s have been learning strategies of fact families and part-part-whole concepts. They have been doing a great job! Practice for this can be found on google classroom.  In science, we have been looking at needs of plants and animals for taking care of classroom plants, as well as meal worm!  In science, we planted a sample of seeds for the International Space Station! One group of our seeds was actually in space! We find out which group was up there when we submit our results to our germination process.  In math, we split up our Grades 1 & 2s for subtraction. Grade 2s love working with Mme. Pelletier for math!  In social studies, we had a presentation from 'Le petit Monde' about life off the grid and traditional french music and culture in Alberta.  In P.E students had fun playing capture the flag, and continuing to practice circus skills!  In FLA, students received letters from another class at Varsity Acres. We enjoyed reading the letters and writing them back.
